| 2. | Patch on a planned cadence Keep intercoms, readers and management software up to date. Schedule maintenance windows and log firmware versions so you are never part of the 60% of breaches caused by unpatched vulnerabilities. |
| 3. | Lock down the network path Segment 2N devices on dedicated VLANs, restrict inbound traffic, and enable HTTPS/TLS for management. Only expose what you must, never to the open internet. |
| 4. | Configure securely from the start Apply hardened configuration profiles for 2N devices. Disable unused services, set certificate-based access where possible and back up configs to a secure location for audit trails. |
| 5. | Prove it with documentation Record versions, settings, password policy and update history. This satisfies NIS2 incident-readiness and gives your customers evidence that security is managed, not assumed. |
