Technicolor TG589VN V3 – End of Life Notice

We have received notice from Technicolor that the TG589VN V3 is now end of life. We have a limited number of units available, when we run out we will be unable to get more stock.

We recommend the TG588v v2 or the TG589vac as alternative products. Both routers are BT Wholesale approved, support ADSL2+, VDSL and are ideal for Fibre to the Cabinet scenarios. The TG589vac also features IEEE 802.11ac wireless standard for the 5 GHz band, enabling even higher throughput and better Wi-Fi coverage.

Members of the ProVu Team took part in the English Half Marathon 10 KM run this weekend in Warrington. After weeks of training and a few aches and pains along the way, all members completed the course in good time.

Taking part in the Knight Corporate Finance Corporate Challenge, the team had a great day in the September Sunshine and look forward to participating in more team challenges in the future.

2N® Access Unit – Usage Scenarios

The 2N® Access Unit is a network access control unit which can be powered via PoE, this can be used standalone or can be used as part of a larger solution. The 2N® Access Unit allows organisations to monitor and control or restrict movement of people into and within buildings. The access unit has an inbuilt 13.56MHz RFID card reader and also supports NFC technology (with the purchase of the NFC licence).

There are a number of usage scenarios of how the 2N Access Unit can be used including:

  • Premise entry basic usage
  • Elevator card reader
  • Dual identification solution – connect with keypad and or 3rd party fingerprint reader for high security where two forms of ID is required for access

End of Life Notice for Polycom IP SoundPoint Phones

The Polycom SoundPoint Series IP321, IP331, IP335, IP450, IP550, IP560, IP650 and the IP670 are now end of life. There is a limited supply of these models. If you have any queries or would like to discuss how these changes may affect any projects you are working on please contact the ProVu team.

Although there is no direct replacement for the IP SoundPoint range, Polycom’s VVX phones will now become the standard Polycom SIP range moving forwards. The VVX series has been going strong since 2012 and features the following models: VVX 101, 201, 300, 310, 400, 410, 500, 600 and 1500. These phones are available now from ProVu.

CounterPath Bria Licences – What’s the Difference?

With a growing demand for Unified Communications, CounterPath softphone licences are an increasingly popular choice for flexible, mobile working. However with a variety of licenses available, differentiating between them can sometimes be an overwhelming tedious task.

CounterPath currently have two licence options; Bria 4 and Bria Stretto. Put simply, CounterPath’s Bria Stretto client is a provisionable version of the standard Bria 4 client. Acting as replacements for VTech’s previous models, the VSP716A, VSP726A and VSP736A have been designed to offer flexible business solutions and feature PoE support, dual Ethernet ports and an industry-leading 3 year warranty.

Offering some unique features to other comparable SIP phones in the market, both the VSP726A and VSP736A have an integrated SD card slot which allows users to record and save calls directly to their deskphone for easy playback. Plus, with their in-built DECT radio the VSP726A and VSP736A can be paired with both the VSP601A DECT handset and/or the VSP500A DECT headset.
