ProVu are delighted to announce we have reached agreement with Czech based Telecom manufacturer 2N to distribute their range of IP Door Entry Intercoms.

With the rapidly growing demand for SIP compatible door entry systems for both hosted telephony providers and on site IP PBX systems the 2N products significantly broadens the range of systems we currently offer.

The Range
2N not only have the Uni and Vario models with many different button, keypad and RFID combinations.



They also have the IP Force and Safety ranges that will enable resellers to offer robust solutions in to very different applications, such as: Public areas in Airports and stations or even Motorway emergency booths.



Interoperability
We have run extensive interoperation tests with a number of leading hosted providers plus several IP PBX systems including Asterisk and 3CX and found the 2N products fully compatible and really easy to set up.

ProVu are excited to announce the launch of the new T4 series range of IP phones from widely recognised manufacturer, Yealink.

The T4 series offers the industry’s latest telephony features combined with intuitive user-interfaces, easy to use BLF keys, superior quality audio and large clear mirror style display screens.

The T4 series revolutionary design not only applies to the quality of its telephony but also to its attractive and stylish looks making it an ideal choice for the discerning user.

These sleek and elegantly designed handsets all feature a full-duplex speakerphone and Yealink’s Optima HD voice system providing rich, clear, life-like audio. Plus, the days of messy paper inserts are finally over, all the three models have between 6 & 10 BLF keys that can scroll to 3 pages, providing functionality for up to 27 buttons.

The phones also represent a sensible investment, with the T42G and T46G supporting POE with dual Gigabit Ethenet ports. The T41P also features PoE support but is designed for the more cost-efficient 10/100M Ethernet networks.

Recommended Iphone/Ipad app for Protalk/Fermax Door entry system

Lots of people have been asking us to recommend an app that works with the Protalk/Fermax IP range of door entry systems. Though there are hundreds of them on the Apple store, not all work perfectly with Protalk’s IP door entry system.

Problem :

There are 2 main issues.

1. Multitasking

Multitasking means running an app in the background while the user can do other things. It is important to install/buy an app that supports multitasking if you wish to receive calls when the ipad/iphone is in sleep mode.

2. SIP over TCP support

Apple only ever allows a SIP application to work in the background (multitask) when it supports SIP over TCP. Its just the way they have built IOS(Apple’s operating system). When buying an app to work with a hosted solution or a PBX provider, make sure they support SIP over TCP.

Solution:

The solution is to use a PBX/Hosted provider which supports SIP over TCP or alternatively buy a SARK200 PBX which, along with offering other benefits, works for both video and audio over the TCP protocol. For for information about SARK 200 please click here.

    Changes to Snom part codes

    On 1st April 2013 ProVu will change the part codes for Snom phones.

    This is because snom are now offering phones without the power supply. We need partcodes for each phone for with and without PSU. We are also taking the opportunity to make our part codes more consistent with snom’s part codes.

    We also want to make it clearer whether the phone includes a power supply or not.

    Notes

    For prosys customers the old part codes will continue to work for orders placed automatically (via XML or similar). The new part codes will appear on all invoices and order confirmations.

    The old part codes will be shown alongside the new ones in automatic stock feeds until 1st May 2013.

    All references to part codes in the order history etc will be updated to show the new part codes.

    Long term, better for everybody to change to ordering with the new codes.
