Coronavirus – What we’re doing to prepare

Given the current status of the Coronavirus pandemic, we would like to share some information on the measures we have put in place this week to ensure the long term reliability of ProVu as a distributor. We feel that our key function is to keep our warehouse operating, receiving stock and shipping out our customer orders, we have therefore taken the decision to physically isolate our warehouse operation team from the rest of the business and have enforced a remote working policy for all ProVu employees who are able to perform their roles outside of the office.

Our thinking is that the majority of our staff are trained to be able to work in the warehouse, should one of our existing warehouse team catch COVID-19 we may be forced to send the whole team home. In this instance, we would deep clean the area immediately and rotate our home working staff to cover these roles and maintain operation. We have enough staff trained to repeat this process at least five times.

We would like to reassure our partners that there are no current stock issues and no current personnel issues. We are taking this bold and early step to mitigate the future risk to our staff, our business and our customers.

We maintain focused on providing the very best services and fast delivery times to support you and your business. The intentions of these measures are to:

  • Protect our employees from being put at risk of catching COVID-19
  • Provide continuity to ALL of our operations, protecting our customers from supply issues
  • To continue to provide you with an outstanding level of service

Like everyone else, we are currently in unchartered territory, but as a technology company that uses its own products extensively we are in a strong position to adapt to this work methodology. Our move to send everyone home to work has been in place for two days and has gone extremely well with no disruption to our operations.

Do you have parking?

Yes, yes we do. Following our recent move to our new warehouse we now have the space to expand for visitor parking! Located just up the road from our main offices, guests visiting ProVu and our sister company, Alliot Technologies can now benefit from this space.

Our visitor parking is very easy to access, after turning on to Crow Lane, take the right (or left) turn onto Savile Street, which is a one way system. You will pass a row of houses on your right and another warehouse on your left, directly across from that warehouse is the ProVu Warehouse and Visitor Parking.

After parking your vehicle simply head out of the gates and turn right. Walk down the Street, cross over Lipscomb Street and Savile Mill, the home of ProVu and Alliot Technologies, is directly in front of you. Upon arrival, please press the intercom on the blue doors to attract the attention of one of our lovely team members and some one will come down to greet you.

For customers wishing to book with DPD, please be aware that the last collection date before Christmas will be the 23rd December. Orders collected on this date will be delivered on the 27th December, the next available collection date after this will be 2nd January.

If you or your customers’ premises will be closing over the Christmas period, let us know and we can adjust the shipping dates of your orders accordingly – this will help to avoid any unnecessary delays that may be caused by attempted deliveries while you’re closed.

Please note: Throughout the Christmas period, we will be operating a ‘best endeavour service’, therefore collection and delivery times may vary. If it is important that your orders are received on a specific day we would recommend considering a priority service – please contact a member of our team to discuss your requirements.

A Good Ol’ Fashioned Lift and Shift

On the 30th November, the ProVu team took part in a good ol’ fashioned lift and shift. Moving the contents of our current warehouse up to the new warehouse, a short way up the road from our main offices. This will give us the much needed space to house more products and also make it easier for deliveries and collections as the new warehouse comes with its own yard and car parking spaces for ProVu visitors.

Off the wagon

The Team spent the early morning packaging and palleting up the last remains of the warehouse after doing small pieces throughout the week. It was then loaded into trucks to be taken round to the new warehouse where they were placed into their new position. It took a lot of work but with all hands on deck, our team managed to move our entire warehouse in just one day!

The new warehouse will house all of our stock in one easy to manage space, and accomodate our continued plans for growth, which I’m sure we will fill in no time with our ever expanding list of products!

The space we have vacated in our original warehouse will soon be converted into further offices and meeting rooms, to accomodate our growth and support the expansion of our sister company, Alliot Technologies LTD. This is proof that ProVu is ever expanding and growing stronger as we close off yet another historic year.
