New low cost Yealink T20E available exclusively from ProVu

T20E banner

ProVu are pleased to announce the arrival of the new low cost Yealink T20E IP phone.

We believe this model is one of the most competitively priced quality IP phones available. It has all the same functionality of the popular T20P model including the same Auto Provisioning engine. However, as there is no POE support we are able to bring it to market at an even lower price (includes a UK PSU).

The T20E is the ideal phone for those opportunities where the budget is really tight and is perfect for call centres where the key is to supply a low cost robust and reliable phone.

Please note ProVu Communications Ltd are a trade only distributor. All pricing is available on ProSys, our Reseller portal. If you are an ITSP, telecoms retailer or telephony system installer sign up to become a ProVu reseller.

New Gigaset R410H PRO replaces the E49H

The popular Gigaset E49H is no longer available to buy and has now been replaced by the new Gigaset R410H PRO (In stock).

If you previously bought the E49H’s bundled with N300IP’s take note of the new bundle part-code, these are as follows:

N300IPR410-1
N300IPR410-2
N300IPR410-3
N300IPR410-4
N300IPR410-5
N300IPR410-6

These part codes are now active and are available on ProSys.

SARK SIP-to-SIP peering

You can use the built-in SailToSail or IAX2 trunks, but both of these will use the IAX protocol. If you are wanting to achieve this sibling trunking via SIP, you will need to use the “GeneralSIP” template when creating a trunk.

The steps below are the same for both systems, so follow them through once and then repeat the same process on the other system.

– Login to the SARK web interface
– End points > Trunks > Create new ([*] button on right) > GeneralSIP
– give the trunk a dummy number (I just used 0000 in my test)

– Configure the trunk to point to the URI/IP of the target system (sibling)
– Make up a username and password
– Press “Save”

– Go back to the trunks screen and now “edit” the new trunk
– Click on the “User” tab that appears on the next page
– Set the “Asterisk User” box to be the same as your chosen username above
– the asterisk config for this trunk can then be populated into the textbox below:
“””
secret=password123
context=extensions
“””
Where the secret is the same as the chosen password before.
Now commit your changes and do the same on the other system. With any luck, these should now be peering correctly. You may wish to check on the asterisk console `asterisk -rvvvv` and then `sip show peers`

Best of luck!

Zero Touch Provisioning (ZTP)

ProVu have been selling services for many years to help people deploy SIP phones. Services under our prosys brand.

We can deliver, brand, configure, set firmware and report back. We provide APIs to our customers to do this automatically.

Until recently, we called these fulfilment and provisioning services. There wasn’t an industry specific term.

But now, the term Zero Touch Provisioning seems to be more in favour throughout the industry. More people are talking about the services we offer with these words. I’m glad that the language has caught up with what we do.

Except ProVu do more. We do Zero Touch Management as well!!!

ProVu celebrate 10 years of snom distribution

10 years of snom distribution

Yes it is hard to believe, but it is now 10 years since ProVu supplied their first snom phone. Back in 2002 when England had just lost again to a fluky Ronaldinho goal in the Japanese World cup and Broadband was just becoming widely available with speeds of just 256K ProVu reached agreement with snom to become their first UK Distributor.

Even in those days it was clear that VoIP was going to represent a major challenge to the long established traditional communication methods of ISDN and analogue lines. And with the advent of affordable Broadband and the SIP voice protocol it was clear that businesses were going to want to take advantage of the flexibility to call colleagues and customers anywhere in the world using the same Internet connection that they were using for normal business data.

The first snom model to be sold by ProVu was the snom 100 (view the snom 100 datasheet) which had an elegant designed handset. This also had the habit of elegantly sliding off the cradle with the slightest of knocks or vibrations to the table. snom quickly moved on to the snom 190 and 200 which set the standard for SIP phones with their ability to be provisioned automatically and technically superior SIP stack.

Ten years on snom have moved from strength to strength, with a wide range of phones and ancillary equipment that is still considered at the cutting edge of internet telephony.

ProVu are delighted and proud to have been snom’s UK Distributor for over 10 years now and look forward to achieving even greater success over the coming years.
