We’ve Been Shortlisted!

With the Pandemic and lockdowns feeling like a distant memory, there’s no denying the last couple of years have been challenging for many companies. While Covid is still around, it feels we’re adapting well to life post-lockdown and it’s great to see a return to a semi-normal state. With this, we’re incredibly excited to see a return of many of the Channel’s in-person events this year, including the prestigious Channel awards!

The Channel, while not hit as hard as other sectors is repairing itself, allowing companies across the country to come out swinging. With Teams giving everything they have, going above and beyond for customers new & old. Innovating their services and growing to accommodate the new normal. People have taken notice of everyone’s hard work with many Industry Awards starting to announce their shortlists. We are delighted to have been shortlisted for not one, but two upcoming awards.

Technology Reseller Awards

New for 2022, the Technology Reseller Awards cover all aspects of the industry; from AV, Cyber Security, Hosted Services and Software to name a few. The category we have been shortlisted in is Comms & Network Distributor of the Year and was based on reader votes. It’s always great to have your customers behind you and we’d like to thank everyone who took the time to vote for us, helping us secure a place on the shortlist! We’re looking forward to attending this ceremony in London on 26th May which will be hosted by comedian, Josh Widdicombe.

Comms Business Awards

Shortlisted for 2022 Distributor of the Year. These awards have long been a highlight in the Channel Calendar. Taking place in London on 21st July, the illustrious ceremony is often hosted by a well-known celebrity with previous hosts including Sir Lenny Henry and Jimmy Carr. Channel Live 2022!

What a whirlwind two days we had at Channel Live last week. It was great to see some of our existing customers and catch up with what their plans are for the rest of 2022. It’s encouraging to see that after a rough couple of years, the industry is alive and thriving.

Maybe even more so! As we had some great discussions with new up and coming companies as well as some completely new companies coming into the sector for the first time. It was amazing to meet everyone, and we hope you will be in touch soon.

Day 1

With the first day underway from its 10am start we were blown away with how many people travelled to see the show. We were hesitant at first, that after the years we have had would anyone want to turn up to big events like this! We were definitely proven wrong and happily so.  Maybe it was everyone hungry to get back to business as normal, or maybe it was just all the free freebies going! (I know our Tech Director, Muhammad was very pleased with his loot from this year).

Continuing with the first day, our MD Darren Garland had a presentation in theatre 2 discussing the value branching out into IoT could bring your business and what our sister company, Alliot Technologies, can bring to the table.

It was great having members of Snom and DrayTek on the stand. I know many of you appreciated being able to ask questions directly to our suppliers. Also getting a first hands on look at the new products coming out this year from Snom, Yealink, Cisco and Draytek.

With the first day coming to a close, many members headed to the Channel Live Gala Dinner, which we were told was a beautiful dinner, cracking entertainment and good times had with friends from up and down the country. Our Team was very well behaved and were in bed by 9 with it being a school night, ready for the second day.

Day 2

The second day, our team was refreshed and ready for another long day. As with many shows, the second day was slightly quieter than the first; Which I’m sure some of the others that were in attendance of the Gala dinner were quite thankful for, since they ended the party around 3am.

With another talk in theatre 2 from our very own Sales Manager, Anna Maria Marzec-Smith. Attendees joined Anna as she discussed how to get the most from your distributor and her top tips on the questions you should be asking to get the most value from your suppliers.

As the second day came to an end it was all hands on deck to pack down the stand. It is amazing to watch something that was full of people become so empty so quickly. I think everyone was ready for bed after an amazing two days. We can’t wait for the next one!

Do you have parking?

Yes, yes we do. Following our recent move to our new warehouse we now have the space to expand for visitor parking! Located just up the road from our main offices, guests visiting ProVu and our sister company, Alliot Technologies can now benefit from this space.

Our visitor parking is very easy to access, after turning on to Crow Lane, take the right (or left) turn onto Savile Street, which is a one way system. You will pass a row of houses on your right and another warehouse on your left, directly across from that warehouse is the ProVu Warehouse and Visitor Parking.

After parking your vehicle simply head out of the gates and turn right. Walk down the Street, cross over Lipscomb Street and Savile Mill, the home of ProVu and Alliot Technologies, is directly in front of you. Upon arrival, please press the intercom on the blue doors to attract the attention of one of our lovely team members and some one will come down to greet you.

A Good Ol’ Fashioned Lift and Shift

On the 30th November, the ProVu team took part in a good ol’ fashioned lift and shift. Moving the contents of our current warehouse up to the new warehouse, a short way up the road from our main offices. This will give us the much needed space to house more products and also make it easier for deliveries and collections as the new warehouse comes with its own yard and car parking spaces for ProVu visitors.

Off the wagon

The Team spent the early morning packaging and palleting up the last remains of the warehouse after doing small pieces throughout the week. It was then loaded into trucks to be taken round to the new warehouse where they were placed into their new position. It took a lot of work but with all hands on deck, our team managed to move our entire warehouse in just one day!

The new warehouse will house all of our stock in one easy to manage space, and accomodate our continued plans for growth, which I’m sure we will fill in no time with our ever expanding list of products!

The space we have vacated in our original warehouse will soon be converted into further offices and meeting rooms, to accomodate our growth and support the expansion of our sister company, Alliot Technologies LTD. This is proof that ProVu is ever expanding and growing stronger as we close off yet another historic year.
