ProVu Named Distributor of the Year 2022

We were ecstatic to be awarded the Distributor of the Year (SMB) award at the Comms Business Awards recently . We’re incredibly proud of our team and wanted to share some of the key achievements which helped us to secure this prestigious gong.

A part of ProVu’s marketing strategy is to enter the various awards that are open to the Comms and IT Channel. As a company that is committed to working and supporting the Channel, we view it as a great way to get our brand out there. The other obvious benefit is that myself and the team get to put our glad rags on and meet and socialise with our customers, our industry friends and hopefully meet poitential new customers too. On occasion we win an award and that makes the whole thing all the sweeter!

2022 has been an extraordinary year for ProVu so far, we have attended 3 award ceremonies and won 4 awards, in my 12 years at the helm of ProVu I cannot ever remember us being this successful before. These awards have been judged by a mixture of judging panels and some by members of the Channel; taking the time to vote for us.

We commit a lot of time and effort into submitting our award entries and clearly, right now we are doing something right and striking a chord with the Channel and the judges. I thought it would be good to share in this blog post some of the things we have been talking about. You might be reading this as a customer, potential customer, a supplier, or even a future employee, whoever you are, let me share with you a snippet of what’s contributed to our success over the last 12 months.

For those who don’t know us, we have been distributing VoIP hardware for 23 years, so we’ve been around a while. We’ve come a long way in our over the years but we still stay true to our company values; our customers, suppliers and our team.

Our Customers

We are constantly raising the bar when it comes to the services we provide to our customers. We know that our partners’ needs and requirements differ between each other. Therefore, we work closely with them to develop the services which add true value to their business.

We have a wide range of additional services that we offer to our customers and over the last 12 months we have supplemented those with the following new services:

  • Hold customer owned stock
  • Secure 0% flexible finance options
  • Develop bespoke API features to enable a seamless integration of systems
  • Design and source bespoke packaging for orders to be shipped in

  • Assist with the design and installation of full-scale solutions

Since the shift to hybrid working, it has become increasingly important for resellers to be able to maintain their brand through every step of the customer journey. This includes shipping orders in branded packaging, including customer-owned flyers, gifts in parcels and developing unique ordering codes for our customers to let us know what to include in their packages. This personalised approach enables our partners to create the journey they desire.

Our Suppliers

We hold long-standing relationships with many of the world’s leading manufacturers. These relationships have proved invaluable over the last 12 months. The global chip shortage has affected stock levels of many products throughout the world. Through our excellent relationships with our vendor partners, we have not only minimised disruption to our customers but also allowed us to understand the market and how it will be affected .

Our People

I am the biggest fan of the team at ProVu, they work incredibly hard to keep our customers happy, going beyond what is expected without hesitation. They all contribute to the services and performance of the company. Our low churn rate of staff is testament to the environment we have created, the opportunities we provide and their dedication to the Channel and our customers. ProVu customers don’t only get to deal with people who are incredibly knowledgeable, they also get to speak to the same people which is an important contributing factor to the overall experience and the relationships we hold with both our customers and vendor partners.

Despite the challenges the chip shortage and pandemic have caused, our team’s knowledge has enabled our customers to make more informed decisions and ensure a continued supply.

It’s been an amazing year so far and none of it would have been possible without our customers, suppliers and most of all our Team. So to you all, I would like to thank you for your continued support.

Important ProVu Shipping Price Update

As of 20th June we will be updating our shipping prices.

Over the last few months we have had a number pricing increases on all our carriers due to the increased price of fuel in the market. We have been monitoring this carefully and as a result we have reviewed our shipping prices. The good news is that on 90% of our outbound deliveries we have taken the commercial decision to reduce our shipping costs. These reductions will be on our most common services of standard next day delivery.

However, for that remaining 10%, we have had to increase our delivery charges. This includes non-standard shipping areas (non-mainland uk) e.g. Scottish Highlands, Northern Ireland and Isle of Man.

The increases of our courier’s fuel surcharge were just too large and where we could, we have absorbed some of it, but the rest we have had to pass through. These price changes will come into effect on the 20th of June.

Mail pack: Small, up to 1 kg £5.09 £5.59
Courier pack: Medium, up to 5kg £6.34 £6.84

Delivery prices to non-standard UK areas including, Scottish Highlands, Northern Ireland and Isle of Man will be charged at a higher rate.

We’ve Been Shortlisted!

With the Pandemic and lockdowns feeling like a distant memory, there’s no denying the last couple of years have been challenging for many companies. While Covid is still around, it feels we’re adapting well to life post-lockdown and it’s great to see a return to a semi-normal state. With this, we’re incredibly excited to see a return of many of the Channel’s in-person events this year, including the prestigious Channel awards!

New for 2022, the Technology Reseller Awards cover all aspects of the industry; from AV, Cyber Security, Hosted Services and Software to name a few. The Comms Council are Heading North!

Channel Live 2022!

What a whirlwind two days we had at Channel Live last week. It was great to see some of our existing customers and catch up with what their plans are for the rest of 2022. It’s encouraging to see that after a rough couple of years, the industry is alive and thriving.

Maybe even more so! As we had some great discussions with new up and coming companies as well as some completely new companies coming into the sector for the first time. It was amazing to meet everyone, and we hope you will be in touch soon.

Day 1

With the first day underway from its 10am start we were blown away with how many people travelled to see the show. We were hesitant at first, that after the years we have had would anyone want to turn up to big events like this! We were definitely proven wrong and happily so.  Maybe it was everyone hungry to get back to business as normal, or maybe it was just all the free freebies going! (I know our Tech Director, Muhammad was very pleased with his loot from this year).

Continuing with the first day, our MD Darren Garland had a presentation in theatre 2 discussing the value branching out into IoT could bring your business and what our sister company, Alliot Technologies, can bring to the table.

It was great having members of Snom and DrayTek on the stand. I know many of you appreciated being able to ask questions directly to our suppliers. Also getting a first hands on look at the new products coming out this year from Snom, Yealink, Cisco and Draytek.

With the first day coming to a close, many members headed to the Channel Live Gala Dinner, which we were told was a beautiful dinner, cracking entertainment and good times had with friends from up and down the country. Our Team was very well behaved and were in bed by 9 with it being a school night, ready for the second day.

Day 2

The second day, our team was refreshed and ready for another long day. As with many shows, the second day was slightly quieter than the first; Which I’m sure some of the others that were in attendance of the Gala dinner were quite thankful for, since they ended the party around 3am.

With another talk in theatre 2 from our very own Sales Manager, Anna Maria Marzec-Smith. Attendees joined Anna as she discussed how to get the most from your distributor and her top tips on the questions you should be asking to get the most value from your suppliers.

As the second day came to an end it was all hands on deck to pack down the stand. It is amazing to watch something that was full of people become so empty so quickly. I think everyone was ready for bed after an amazing two days. We can’t wait for the next one!
